I Tried Elemis’s Superfood Vital Veggie Mask- Read My Honest Review

Original Post SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2019

So first I thought I would create a one product review of the face mask that really intrigued me... and later down the road I will do full box reviews.
The Superfood Vital Veggie Mask retails for $35 (not including shipping fees) for 75 mls of product.

What makes The Superfood Vital Veggie Mask special?

Elemis claims that their mask nourishes, hydrates, and brightens. This product is Vegan Friendly, and like all ELEMIS products, it is cruelty free. It is a smoothie-inspired moisturizing mask, packed with nutrient-dense Supergreens, plus radiance-boosting fruit acids, for an incredibly soft and smooth complexion. A Prebiotic, naturally derived from sugar, helps to maintain balance in the skin’s microflora for a healthier-looking complexion. Interesting right? That is what intrigued me!

What are the special ingredients?

  • Aloe Vera
  • Avocado
  • Chia Seed Oil
  • Wheatgrass
  • Kale
  • Nettle
  • Vitamin C
  • Passionfruit Acid

What does the mask claim to do?

Nourishes, smoothes and brightens, for softer, smoother, more radiant skin. Vitamin C and Passionfruit Acids help to gently slough away dead skin cells to reveal smoother, brighter look, while Omega-rich Avocado and Chia Seed oils help support the skin's moisture barrier. Wheatgrass, Kale and Nettle extracts, all rich in chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals and vitamins, leave the skin hydrated with an outdoor-fresh glow. Works for all skin types.
But in reality, does the Elemis Mask actually do what it says? And could this be a new miracle product for my skin? I found out the truth behind the 4.5 star review hype.

My initial review of the mask:

  • The packaging and design of the Elemis Mask is pretty, aesthetically pleasing.
  • It had a unique smell and light green color, not horrible though.
  • The container was large, I would say, so that is a plus! And a little bit of this product goes a long way.

Upon application:

  • I applied with the Luxie Foundation 510 brush (which I love) that also came in my box, the product applied very smoothly and easily.
  • It didn't dry down too quickly, so youre able to get an even coverage.
  • The mask had a very nice cooling feeling, which was refreshing.
  • I however, never felt that slight tingling feeling that all of the reviews mention.

Instant results from the Elemis Mask:

After my first application of the Elemis Mask, I had very mixed feelings and questioned if the product would even be worth my money full price. It seemed to do no benefit whatsoever. Actually making my face feel a tad greasy. I gave the mask several more tries over the last month and a half and I have to say that I didn't notice any clarity, softness, or any positive change (as I do with my normal mask).

Would I buy the Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask?

To answer my question from earlier; is the mask worth the full price?
The answer is NO.
As mentioned before I eliminated my routine mask and only used the Elemis Mask for several weeks to give it a good trial. I received no benefit of it and would have been disappointed if I had purchased for $35. I feel like my skin quality decreased using this product. In my opinion, against all of the 4.5 star reviewers this isn't worth the money. I would 100% be down to trying other Elemis products, but as I know this isn't the product for me. Could it be for you?
